EP: 74 The war between Gaza and Israel may be over thanks to President Trump

from Humanity Unplugged Podcast · host Jermaine McCrimmon

The 20-point plan was released by the US government just minutes before Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu held a joint news conference on Monday evening. The plan states that if the fighting ends, Gaza will be placed under the control of a transitional government headed by Trump and others, including former British Prime Minister Mr Blair.Gaza will "be a deradicalised terror-free zone that does not pose a threat to its neighbours" and "redeveloped for the benefit of" its people, it adds.Donald Trump will host Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House on Monday, with the U.S. president pushing a Gaza peace proposal after a slew of Western leaders embraced Palestinian statehood in defiance of American and Israeli opposition. In Netanyahu’s fourth visit since Trump returned to office in January, the right-wing Israeli leader will be looking to shore up his country’s most important relationship as it faces growing international isolation nearly two years into its war against Hamas in the Gaza Strip.Netanyahu went on to deliver a blistering attack on what he called a “disgraceful decision” over the past week by Britain, France, Canada, Australia, and several other countries to recognize Palestinian statehood, a major diplomatic shift by top U.S. allies. As of September 29, 2025, the Gaza war is not officially over, but significant developments suggest a potential end to the conflict. The United States has unveiled a comprehensive peace plan to end the war, and President Trump is optimistic about the prospects for a deal. However, the fighting has not yet ceased, and there has been no official agreement from all involved parties. Tropical Storm Imelda formed over the Bahamas on Sunday afternoon and is expected to intensify into a hurricane. Although its forecast is less ominous for the Southeast coast, the storm will still be felt there.Newly-formed Imelda has maximum sustained winds of 40 mph and is 335 miles southeast of Cape Canaveral, Florida, as of 8 p.m. ET, according to the National Hurricane Center.Tropical storm warnings are in effect for the central and northwestern Bahamas, where the tropical storm is currently producing heavy rainfall. Rainfall totals could range from 4 to 12 inches in the Bahamas and eastern Cuba, more than enough to trigger flash flooding. The eventual path of Tropical Storm Imelda has been trending away from a direct landfall along the Southeast coast over the last 24 to 36 hours. After moving north and parallel to Florida’s Atlantic coast through Monday, the storm is now expected to make an abrupt turn east and away from the coast while intensifying into a hurricane by late Monday or Tuesday.
