Inspired by Paris Hilton’s incredible documentary, This Is Paris, on Youtube, this week’s episode reflects the monetization of the troubled teen industry through my experience in dealing with this first handedly. I have not personally experienced entering or living in one of these facilities, but I feared the threat of being admitted into one against my will because I was a minor with a mental illness. The threat of ‘what if’ in entering a mental health hospital terrified me because of the fears associated with unfit hospitals for children that profited off their mental illnesses.  I touch on: Coping mechanisms to keep myself safe.
