Ep. 83: Dichotomy in AT
from Clinically Pressed Podcast · host Clinically Pressed
Di’kademe/: a division or contrast between two things that are or are represented as being opposed or entirely different. Moving to one extreme or the other can be hard to balance, especially if you try and make two seemingly opposing views/perspectives try and mix together and champion both of them. This is where dichotomy comes from and the concept that you have to find balance. There are times to be aggressive but you have to be able to double back with caution because you can’t run yourself in only one direction and then immediately make a switch. Recognizing and embracing the dichotomy of ideas is important to all professions but can have some serious implications in athletic training. It is important to recognize the wide range of differing ideas but also be able to balance those in order to be maximally effective. We discussing this episode.
