They discuss the difficult question "how does the church implement an effective discipleship ministry” in the midst of a busy church environment of programs? Part of the problem is a lack of an agreed-upon definition of a disciple. Ron and Mary suggest moving from a Greek definition of a disciple (more of a student) and into a Hebrew understanding of a disciple — an apprentice; moving from transferring information to that of an apprenticeship model where "life on life" is the goal.
