From a young age, Kathryn Dickson had two distinct loves—medicine and fashion! Beyond her demanding role in healthcare as an emergency department Nurse Practitioner, she has successfully launched the scrub clothing line OliveUs Apparel.  OliveUs Apparel was created in response to unmet needs Kathryn saw when it came to clothing options for healthcare works. The scrub designs at OliveUs Apparel offer solutions to everyday medical workflows and hazards, such as bacterial transmission, ergonomic risks, and the potential choking hazards of stethoscopes worn commonly around the neck. Kathryn discusses the lessons she learned through trial and error while building her business, and how she carved a niche for herself in both the medical and entrepreneurial worlds.
