EP022 恐龍統治地球一億多年，為什麼就是沒有「老鼠大小」的恐龍？

簡介我們總是好奇，恐龍為什麼可以長得那麼巨大。但最近有研究反過來問了一個問題：恐龍在地球上生活了一億多年，也演化出各種不同體型，為什麼卻幾乎沒有真正「很小」的非鳥類恐龍？目前已知最小的成年非鳥類恐龍，大約還有四百多公克。照理來說，恐龍應該也有機會一路演化到錢鼠，甚至蜂鳥那樣的尺寸，但化石紀錄裡卻看不到。研究團隊提出一個有意思的可能性：不是恐龍沒有能力變小，而是小型動物的生態位置，可能早就被早期哺乳動物占據了。資料來源① Stephanie Lechki（史蒂芬妮・萊奇基） & Roger B.
