"3908 Nyx" is an asteroid belonging to the Near-Earth Objects category, discovered in 1980.Nyx is the primordial goddess of Night, born from Chaos and feared even by Zeus. She is an extremely powerful and ancient figure, representing the darkness and mystery of the cosmos. She gave birth to many children on her own, including Hypnos (sleep), Thanatos (death), and the Oneiroi (dreams). Among the others are Oizys (misery), Nemesis (vengeance), and the Moirai (fate), symbols of the inevitable forces of life.Nyx, together with her children—especially Oizys and Momus—represents a lineage connected to the dark and unavoidable forces of the universe. Oizys represents deep pain, sorrow, and the sense of emptiness typical of depression. Momus, on the other hand, embodies the critical inner voice, judgment, and negative thoughts about oneself.Together they describe the depressive cycle: suffering inwardly (Oizys) and amplifying that pain through self-criticism (Momus).This is somewhat what happens when we experience prolonged periods of deep sadness: the pain is real, but it often becomes heavier when the mind feeds it.
