EP101: 3 Secrets To Be A Successful Leader In Your Career    Hello Chit Chatters!  I am still processing how we are at over 100 episodes on our little podcast! This show has been truly a labor of love and I am so grateful for the opportunity to be blessed with these gifts of coaching you all in your journey through life and your career.    Today’s episode is focused on 3 secrets to be a successful leader in your career. I have been practicing these for a really long time and had learned these competencies from a very young age through mentorship, guidance and listening to others who I looked up to as leaders throughout my life and in my career.    Now, to be direct and honest, these aren’t secrets! Shhh! Yes, I am sharing them with you because I believe that everyone should have good mentors and guides to help them to be successful in their journey through life and their career.    These 3 competencies are part of that! Let’s dive in! Empathy listen  leave judgement behind be present  Read and understand body language Take interest  understand others needs understand others emotions   compassion    Gratitude appreciation for others during their success and contribution Be genuine in your interaction/sincere show up and mean it Personable  Authenticity  Consistent    Vulnerability It helps build trust It shows courage and relatability that everything isn't always black & white or figured out socially and physically I see these competencies (skills) as part of a holistic tool-kit that serves as best practices for working with others. It requires a person to have courage, practice authenticity, transparency, and recognize the power of words.  I can totally geek out on leadership skills and values all day, but I will leave that very broad topic for another episode.
