Ep104 Kyle Wallwork, Kwik Kopy Kawana Waters - franchise owner journey

from Franchise Everything · host Glenn Walford

Kyle Wallwork is a five-year franchise owner of Kwik Kopy Kawana Waters on the Sunshine Coast. With a 25-year background in hospitality sales across major hotel groups in Australia and New Zealand, Kyle transitioned out of the corporate world after a company merger led him to reassess his future.   Ready for a lifestyle shift and inspired to build something of his own, he explored different businesses before a conversation with Kwik Kopy led to an unexpected opportunity. The fit was right, from culture to values and he took over an established center with a long-standing team.   Kyle now plays a hands-on role across all parts of the business, from financials and client meetings to the occasional delivery. He’s also part of a national performance group of franchise owners, where collaboration and accountability drive business improvement.   With a strong foundation and passion for growth, Kyle continues to shape the future of his business while keeping family and balance at the heart of it.   0:00 Introduction 0:41 Kyle's background in hospitality 2:33 A typical day looked like for Kyle during his 25-year career 4:30 Behind the scenes of Kyle’s high-pressure role managing hotel sales and partnerships 5:20 The turning point that pushed Kyle to start something new and rethink his career path 7:10 Kyle's decision to skip consulting and take a new direction on the Sunshine Coast 8:10 His criteria for picking the right business after leaving corporate life 9:48 Meeting the owners of a locally grown print business gave Kyle a new perspective after years in hospitality 12:03 Kyle went from exploring options to sealing the deal and what the buying process really looked like 13:28 What the training was like when Kyle bought his first business 14:52 The unexpected tasks or role Kyle takes on daily as a hands-on business owner 16:05 Kyle’s thoughts on expanding his business or making the most of where he is now 18:51 Getting the family involved how Kyle’s children have helped out in the business 19:45 Wrap Up   Podcast Produced by:  www.franchisebusinesshub.com.au Listen or Watch on; Spotify: https://tinyurl.com/bdhh6wk8 Apple Podcasts: https://tinyurl.com/32x4p6n4 Amazon Music: https://tinyurl.com/yfkmmc8y YouTube: https://youtu.be/QuoM_eix9Jc
