鹿港的發展時間很早，也是臺灣歷史上重要的市鎮之一，因為開墾時期的歷史發展，經濟的發展也促成了地方的文教與民俗技藝產業發展，孕育出獨特的「鹿港文化」。文史工作者陳世賢老師接受專訪時提到，鹿港辜家這棟豪華的洋樓，內部也收集了當時精巧工匠們的作品，在鹿港的發展逐漸緩慢、人口移出的狀況開始出現之後，當地的文物與傳統技藝也面臨失傳的危機。鹿港辜家提供這棟宅邸，成為「鹿港民俗文物館」，設展並協助保存當地珍貴的文化資產，也是向後人訴說著鹿港曾經的輝煌風光。 -- Hosting provided by SoundOn
