英國廣播公司BBC曾經拍了一部紀錄片"人生七年"，從1964年開始跟拍14位來自英國社會不同階層(富人、中產、及貧窮階層)的孩子，那時候這14位孩子都是7歲，導演假設階級差異是會複製的，他每隔7年會來訪談這些孩子，聊聊他們的人生觀和未來規劃，導演發現，操控人生的重要因素包括階層、教育、成長環境、與朋友。
