EP26: The One with Powerball Dreams, Gift Cutoffs, and Graphic Distractions

from Sunday Family Dinner: Conversations around the Table · host Sunday Family Dinner: Conversations around the Table

This week’s family dinner takes a wild ride. We imagine what life would look like if we hit the Powerball jackpot—though Mom still doesn’t quite grasp that being a billionaire means you can officially retire from chores. Kelly’s nurse chimes in with a very graphic medical story that left us all queasy (consider this your warning). To lighten things up, the family plays a round of Would You Rather—and we’d love to hear your answers in the Facebook group! Later, the conversation turns to birthdays: at what age do we stop getting each other gifts? Matthew has strong opinions… shocking, we know. It’s a mix of laughter, mild trauma, and a whole lot of sibling banter.🌮 Mom’s Tortilla RecipeAs promised, if you caught our video, here’s Mom’s tortilla recipe. Just remember—she measures with her heart ❤️.Ingredients3 Cups AP Flour1 ½ tsp Salt½ tsp Baking Powder1 Cup of Water1 Cube Unsalted ButterPrep Time: <30 min Total Time: ~2 hoursDirectionsMix dry ingredients in a bowl. Melt butter in warm water.Slowly add water/butter into dry ingredients, kneading continuously until a smooth ball forms (about 5 minutes). Don’t add extra flour—it will come together.Cover with a warm towel for 15 minutes.Divide dough, roll into smooth balls, cover again with a damp towel.Roll out into circles on a floured counter.Cook on a medium-hot cast iron skillet until bubbles form. Flip and cook the other side 15–20 seconds, until done.
