Built on one repeating melody that grows louder for seventeen minutes straight, it remains one of the most performed orchestral pieces in the world today. But few people know that behind that triumphant success, Ravel was quietly losing the thing he valued most. After a car accident, he gradually lost the ability to write, to conduct, and to compose. The melodies still lived inside his mind. But his hands could no longer bring them out. This is the story of a perfectionist. It is also the story of a man burning with everything he had left before the darkness closed in. Join Jenny as she takes you inside the exquisite little house where Ravel lived, into the concert hall where an old man wept listening to his own music, and into the life of a genius who traded everything for one irreplaceable masterpiece.
