William Shakespeare. The son of a glove maker from a small English town. No university degree. Yet he wrote thirty-seven plays that have outlasted every era. He invented more than seventeen hundred English words. And gave all of humanity a shared emotional vocabulary through Hamlet's paralysis, Lear's pride, Macbeth's ambition, and Romeo's madness. But who was he, really? That question has no settled answer four hundred years later. His surviving signatures spell his name differently every time. No manuscripts survive. No diary. No letters. Only thirty-seven plays and one hundred fifty-four sonnets to tell us he ever existed. Today Jenny takes you into the world of Shakespeare. From his childhood in Stratford to his rise in the London theater world. From the founding of the Globe Theatre to the mystery that still surrounds his identity. Discover how the man who transformed the English language left us all, four hundred years later, still a little bit like Hamlet. Powered by Firstory Hosting
