You recognize the painting instantly. Bold black lines. Rectangles of red, yellow, and blue. But do you know the story behind it? Piet Mondrian was not a designer. He was a mystic. He joined the Theosophical Society and believed that behind the visible world lay a deeper spiritual order. He spent his entire life trying to paint that invisible truth. From realistic Dutch landscapes to the revelation of Cubism, from co-founding the De Stijl movement with van Doesburg to falling in love with boogie-woogie jazz in New York at age sixty-eight. Mondrian traveled an extraordinary distance to reach those grids. Every black line he drew was a statement about cosmic order. Every primary color rectangle was a meditation on the tension between energy and stillness. Today Jenny takes you inside the inner world of the father of abstract art. Those grids will never look the same again. Thinker J, your daily companion to the masters who changed the world.
