Michael Baer - Episode 52Although Michael Baer doesn’t have a history of addiction himself, he chooses to be in the business of flipping turtles - the act of coming together with a group of people to help someone “get back on their feet”. After working in ministry and as a science teacher, he realized that he could help others because he could see the signs of addiction festering in these young people. He may not have lived experiences, but he chooses to listen to those who have so he can learn how to best assist them on their journeys to sobriety. He is a proponent of the “bonus family” concept for those who need to move beyond their lives and relationships from their addiction and works every day to be a part of someone’s healing.
