Nika Naghavi, Group Head of Growth, MFS AfricaMobile money is popular in Africa – the number of mobile money accounts rose to 1.6 billion in 2022. but the missing piece of the puzzle used to be the lack of interoperability – payments could be made within national borders but not on a crossborder basis. MFS Africa is the continent’s largest digital payments network. The firm is working to make payments borderless for individuals, SMEs and larger enterprises.
