In this episode we dive into the profound significance of the Feast of Epiphany, also known as Three Kings Day or Theophany. This Christ-centered celebration highlights two pivotal events: the Magi’s visit to Jesus and His baptism by John the Baptist.

Explore the depth of these stories in Matthew 2:1-16 as we uncover the true kingship of Jesus and what it means to make Him the King of your heart. We’ll challenge the comforts ruling our lives, call out the barriers to living by faith, and explore spiritual practices like fasting to tune our hearts to God’s voice.

As we step into 2025, will you surrender your whole life to Him? Join us as we reflect on the gifts the Magi brought and consider what God desires most from us: our hearts, worship, and obedience.

This episode is your invitation to walk in faith, dethrone comfort, and give Jesus the honor He is due.

Over time I gravitated to the original teachings of the Buddha, embodied in the Theravadan tradition, for their down-to-earth clarity, and important sources for me have included the teachers of Spirit Rock Meditation Center and the Pali Canon itself. More recently, I've explored grounding the dharma in modern evolutionary neuropsychology - "neurodharma" - recognizing how mind arises dependently upon the body, especially the nervous system as it tries to meet ancient needs for raw survival. I am especially interested in using these approaches to heighten the learning - the cultivation (bhavana) - from beneficial experiences (otherwise often wasted on the brain) to reduce the underlying sense of deficit and disturbance that causes the craving that causes suffering and harm.
