Nigeria and South Africa score big with numerous nominations, also afro beat sensation Rema seems to have been snubbed despite his global hit "Calm Down" doing numbers and having an unprecedented impact. Sam and Afam discuss the awards and give their opinions on the nominations. Following their recent announcements, Spotify says a song must earn 1000 streams or more annually to be eligible for a payout. The boys discuss this news and what that may mean for artists on the platform. They then get into a conversation about other revenue streams mentioning a Kenyan artist who seems ti be doing exactly that. Xenia Manasseh landed songwriting credits on American and Rnb songstress Brandy's Christmas project, Sam and Afam talk about this and give her her flowers. Finally, CMOs get their license reinstated meaning hey can collect royalties on behalf of artists again, will this be beneficial for Kenyan artists?
