Episode 061 | Artists and Activism 101

In todays episode, Sam and Afam get into the various activities they got into during the previous week. Blinky Bill put on a fantastic show at the rooftop (The Mall) for the We Cut Keys 2 album release party. Sam was at the show, and he talks about his experience. They then get into an album review for the project. This conversation leads to a talk about activism in music and artists roles in effecting change in their community and culture. Relating to that, there was an End-Femicide march organized by Usikimye held in Nairobi recently and a number of artists were present for the cause including Bien, Bensoul, Charisma, Vallerie Muthoni & Maandy to name a few. Scar Mkadinali then tweeted out some opinions that got him in trouble in light of current climate. Also, a Bien, Harmonize, and Bobby Shmurda song was teased but did not come out on the expected date, Sam and Afam speculate as to why and then get into a conversation about the artists value as they progress through their careers. The boys also review new music that dropped last week! To bring more awareness to the different genres of music within the industry we hope to see the artists & songs discussed in the podcast receive the recognition they deserve.
