Episode 09, S2, Marital Rape, Podcast Series, Gulabi Sambad

from Gulabi Sambad

Having sexual relations with your spouse without their consent is marital rape. Although marital rape is a crime, many people ignore it and consider it legitimate and the rights of married couples. However, as a result of the same misperception, many cases of spousal rape are not reported and survivors are forced to continue the unwanted marriage and sexual relations with their partners. In the Nepalese context, many women are victims of marital rape, and the reasons are social and cultural borders, patriarchal domination, and so on. Highlighting the same reasons, this episode discusses how Nepali women are coerced to survive being a victim of marital rape. This discussion also incorporates the conversation with Pratima Silwal, an Investigative Journalist who has recently published a lengthy investigative news report (https://bit.ly/3Y2HuJe)  on women\'s experiences with marital rape.  #rape #maritalrape #maritalrapeinNepal #sexualrights #womenhealth #SRHR #podcast #gulabisambad  --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/gulabi-sambad-teen-talk/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/gulabi-sambad-teen-talk/support
