He began his coaching journey at Upper Iowa University, where he built a winning program from the ground up, then continued that success at Northern Iowa and Indiana State, winning a Missouri ValleyConference regular-season championship for the first time in school history.Since taking over at Iowa in 2014, Coach Heller has transformed the Hawkeyes into a consistent Big Ten contender, capturing the program’s first-ever Big Ten Championship in 2017, earning seven straight postseasonappearances, multiple NCAA Regional berths, and developing many MLB Draft picks along the way.
