Episode 11: Trauma

from Confessions in Sessions Hosted by Jacki

TRIGGER WARNINGS WITHIN THIS EPISODE! Trauma is when we experience very stressful, frightening, or distressing events that are difficult to cope with or out of our control. It could be one incident or an ongoing event that happens over a long period of time. Most of us will experience an event in our lives that could be considered traumatic. Sexual trauma is exposure to any nonconsensual sexually inappropriate behaviors that cause distress. Symptoms often include fear, anxiety, or depression, although not everyone responds to stress or trauma the same way. Regardless, no one should deal with it alone; help is available. With Jax and Jamie I have some very special guests today: Dougie and Allie The purpose of our work is to assist people by offering advice, based on our life experiences. The objective is educational, not psychotherapeutic in nature. If you have been treated for, or believe you may have suffered from a psychological and/or traumatic injury, please consider if you are in a position to safely engage with the service or offering at this time. Confessions in Session is not liable for any distress participation might create. It is encouraged to always talk to YOUR medical professional (your primary care physician, therapist, psychologist, etc). Discord Questionnaire - RAINN 800-656-HOPE (4673) - National Sexual Violence Resource Center https://nsvrc.org - National Domestic Violence Hotline 800.799.SAFE
