In our third segment of Being Real with, we bring on a mama bear who is the biggest advocate for her children we’ve probably ever met! Lisa and her family’s story will leave you inspired, with moments that’ll pull your heart strings and bring up a deep rage for how they’ve been treated and leave you with a few tears for the pain they’ve suffered. 15 years ago, Lisa & Earl welcomed in their beautiful baby boy Evan into the world, without having any idea of what would happen just a few months after his birth to him and the rest of their lives. After receiving his 4/6 months you know what, something changed in Evan. He started behaving very strange for a baby. Displaying strange movements and behaviours this healthy happy boy never did. Lisa knew. She knew something was up. As someone who worked in the medical field, she just knew to go with her gut. It’s a good thing she did. Fast forward 15 years to now, where Evan has gone through many brain surgeries, strokes, medical apts up and down to Edmonton and more tests than most people experience in a lifetime, but you know what’s so cool? Evan has the brightest smile. This kid just beams no matter what he is going through. This family is truly a family that stands behind each other.
