Episode 264 Being real about Residential Schools with Doomy
In today’s episode I have an amazing new guest joining me to talk about Residential Schools and the divide that has a hold on our country between indigenous peoples and those who are not. Before I continue I need everyone who is listening to understand that we are having this convo in good faith, with the information we have or could find and would really love this to start off more conversations around these harder topics because our country truly needs to unite not divide more ❤️ If you cannot listen with an open mind, empathetic soul and critical mind outside of emotions, it’s ok to skip this one!Doomy is known online as a men’s rights activist but speaks up for SO many other topics and one area she wanted to chat about was the Residential Schools, specifically the 5 year long debate about the Kamloops 215. At no point here are we DENYING these schools happened, abuse and terror were bestowed onto these children, but what we struggle the most with is the conflicting information and evidence out there. As we dive deeper, past the headlines… we have questions. This is a VERY nuanced and complex conversation. There are many layers to this and a lot of hurt and anger and rightfully so. But when intense claims of 215 bodies buried beside the school in unmarked graves and it ignited mass divide, burning churches and massive animosity between people, we gotta know more. This isn’t a little deal. Millions have been spent to excavate yet nothing has been excavated. Some indigenous communities do not even have drinking water… how are millions being funded for an excavation to happen and it’s been 5 years and nothing? The headline read bodies. Now they are saying it appears to be a septic field. No remains are found as of today. So why not excavate and allow the healing process for all? Again, NOT SAYING this didn’t happen but you sit back and watch the money (as our gov does always) you gotta wonder if priorities maybe need a revisit here. Places like the Highway of Tears in BC is KNOWN for many indigenous peoples to go missing from yet they JUST installed better phone service in the last few years. I’m all for funding ❤️ im all for truth and reconciliation 💯 I’m all for helping all people of our Canadian community 🙏🏼 but as I do with our Canadian government, I’m always going to question if people in power have the best interest in heart and I’m sorry babes, I don’t think so. I’m soooo glad Doomy joined me today to speak on this although it’s hard for her growing up in Manitoba and being indigenous herself, she feels lost in what to believe, what to know is right but she does know the path forward is talking about it and working together and I’m so grateful for that!

Episode 263 Being real about Motherhood
In today’s amazing episode I bring on an all time fave babe miss @hotmess_hollieg 👌🏽 And in this episode we are talking MOTHERHOOD 🤰I’ve had the absolute honour of watching Hollie be a new mama with her baby Zaid to about to get married mama of two beautiful girls. Although motherhood looks amazing on Hollie and like she’s born to do this, it wasn’t always easy for her. Being a young mom just learning who she was with not the most ideal environment, she had to navigate single motherhood away from her family and friends as she’s learning who she is at the same time. Luckily a wonderful man named Shawn entered the chat and has not left since so going into her next round becoming a mom was a completely different experience. I always love and appreciate Hollie’s real talk around the challenges, the wins, the aha moments of being a mom. & in this episode, we get to dive deeper into those moments 🫶🏻

Episode 262 Being real about BII Healing
In this amazing episode I bring on one of fave podcasters, Bianca from Could it BII? to catch up on her healing journey ❤️ Bianca takes us through being a kid with no medicinal issues or concerns until later in her younger life, having to get a surgery that eventually led to her journey to getting breast implants. Bianca felt a pressure to look more feminine & to possibly fit her clothes a little better, walk a little braver and feel a little more confident so when the implant topic came up, it wasn’t off the table but rather explored to eventual implants. Which made her feel incredible… until it didn’t 😢 After a long list of symptoms starting piling up combined with another local gal sharing her explant story, Bianca started her journey to explanting and advocating with her podcast at the same time! Join us in this amazing catch up to see where she is now and get a run down of her journey before and after implanting/explanting!

Episode 261 Being real with Sofia
In today’s episode I bring back one of my fave humans to chat with, Sofia! Sofia first came on the show in Season 9 Ep 220 with our girl Lacey (shout out to Lacey!) where they shared their experiences leaving their nursing careers to take on a dream opportunity that turned out to be an absolute ongoing nightmare that leaves you with your jaw on the floor (make sure to go listen!) But in this episode we dive deeper into who Sofia was as a kid and growing up, what brought her to nursing in the first place, how she made a complete shift in the way she can serve and help her clients, how she reacted to the vaccine, how she is doing now and literally anything little side quests we could! She says we as professionals yappers and that’s absolutely correct! Loved catching up and learning more about the absolute gem of a human being 🦄

Episode 260 Being real about missing people 🇨🇦 Saskatchewan Edition
In today’s episode I continue on my journey sharing stories of open missing people of Canada cases. We started this series in BC, then moved to AB and today we focus on open cases in Saskatchewan. I was very disheartened while researching at the lack of communications and stories on these individuals. Luckily one story had made it on the big screen on paramount but that’s one story of many unheard 😢 I apologize for the short episode and the lack of I formation on all these cases but either censorship is preventing me from finding more or the info just isn’t out there. Either way, I bring up 4 missing people cases in Saskatchewan. Tamra Jewel Keepness who was 5 when she went missing from Regina in 2004, Derek Sarazin went missing from Saskatoon in Nov 2024 at the age of 48, Jesse Strongman also went missing from Saskatoon in Nov 2021 at the age of 29 and finally I touch on the case of Mekayla Bali, a 16 year old who went missing in Yorkton in 2016. At the time of recording all cases remained open. Again, truly apologize of the lack of info on these individuals but the main points are there. They are missed and the families need help. Please screenshot these photos and keep them in your prayers ❤️

Episode 259 Being real about Coming to God Part 1
In this episode I start a new series where I dive into people’s experiences coming back to God. Everyone’s experience is so different but somewhat the same and I really want to capture that and help others see everyone’s journey will look different and that’s ok! I start with one of my fave women ever, Robyn to quiz her more about her experience growing up in the “Bible Belt” in the south, what strayed her away for God and what brought her back. We’ve touched on this a bit in past episodes with Robyn about soil fracturing and of course in our conspiracy talk but this one goes a bit deeper on her personal journey back to God 🥰

Episode 258 Being real about Canadian Healthcare
In this episode I bring back one of my favourite women on earth, Kristin, to catch up with her, her life in Texas battling Stage 4 Ovarian Cancer and getting deeper into the disaster that is Canadian Healthcare.Being someone who was born in the US, moved to Canada, obtained dual citizenship and had to then flee Canada to save her life due to MANY things wrong with our healthcare, she is the perfect person to talk to about this. Most Canadians are being left behind due to the continual decline of our country and our healthcare system and it seems no one wants to address the elephant in the room here. HOW did we go from being a country with sought after healthcare to having so many fleeing abroad to survive?Kristin and I go over many of the reasons we think this could be happening with a heavy focus on the fact that the government has lost the plot by mismanaging money, pushing MAIDs, adding intense regulations & not giving practitioners proper resources and abilities to treat their patients as THEY see fit... to name a few. IT IS TIME TO BE REAL BABES... WE NEED TO FIX THIS!Eternally grateful for people like Kristin who is currently battling cancer and fighting for a better Canada. We all deserve better.

Episode 257 Being real about 1 Year of Carney
In this episode I bring back Christopher Balkaran from the Open Minds podcast to catch up & go over the last yeah under the Carney Liberal Government. As we tend to do, we touch on many topics in this 2 hour catch up like Canadians political identity, how Christopher came to podcasting, how Brookfield has its hands (allegedly!) into so many companies that will be profiting from Canadian policy, and the general consensus of Canadians… We are tired of being broke after doing all the things we were supposed to do and still feel behind. This isn’t the Canada we grew up in and we both have nostalgia for that time! Having open and real talks are so important for Canadians now more than ever so please never stop conversing and connecting with one another. Join Christopher and I for this awesome convo!

Episode 256 Being real about Small Business; Big Illness
In today's episode I bring on an incredibly strong, bad ass babe, Krystal Clark to share her journey into small buisness and what that really means if you are Canadian and happen to become ill.Krystal did all the right things she was supposed to do. She worked hard, she raised her kids and supported her husband at the time, she expanded her knowledge, she started her own business and was living life enjoying the fruits of her labor. But what happens if you are a small buisness owner and you all of a sudden become ill? Surely with all the taxes we pay as canadians there has to be SOMETHING when a small buisiness owner has to step away for care right?WRONG-O.Unless you pay into the EI system or have an emergency fund, there is NOTHING for you. Ziltch. NA-DA. Now imagine going through the most physical pain, mental anguish, an auto immune disease and basically have to suck that all the fuck up and work because WHOMST is paying while you recover OR just adjust to this new life with your medical condition. WHICH IS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE for most disabled or ill individuals. SPECIALLY if they need their physical body like Krystal does, since she is currently an RMT. WHAT does this country do for those who chase their dreams of starting their own business? Absolutely nothing unless you've paid to play. WONDER what 40% of our taxes go.... not to these hard working small business owners. I will not get conspiratorial here but one has to wonder why small businesses are not being supported here in Canada. Now, not only does Krystal have to deal with auto immune she also has to be careful after a botched surgery and Canada is doing nothing but offering her dispare and YOU GUESSED IT ... MAIDS. (imagine my most ANGRY face here).Krystal explains how she navigated her entire journey through this and what she thinks small business owners in Canada should do to protect themselves if or when they become unable to support their own work as they heal. Do not ever give up babes, Krystal is living proof life is worth living, you are worthy of being here ❤️

Episode 255 Being real about Missing People Alberta Edition
In today’s episode, I am continuing the promised series about missing people of Canada. If you haven’t watched episode 250 for BC, please do so! Next month will be Saskatchewan 🙏🏼 I again bring 3 different stories on the show of those (at the time of recording) are still missing. I stick to facts I found online and tried to stay away from online perceptions. First I speak about Darius MacDougall. Darius was 6 years old at the time of his disappearance and went missing from Crowsnest Pass in Alberta while camping with his family. He has been missing since September 10th, 2025 and currently still missing. Darius was last seen wearing blue and grey sweater, a Grinch Christmas shirt, sweatpants, Paw Patrol shoes and his hair was cut short. Authorities are asking those recreating in the Crowsnest area to keep eyes out of any signs of Darius. Secondly, I speak about the disappearance of Angela Morningstar Alexis. Angela has been missing since August 17th, 2022 from the Edmonton area. Her uncle was the last to see her in August and she was reported missing a few weeks later after family members were getting increasingly worried of her whereabouts. Her family have worked tirelessly to get help finding her with little help so please screen shot her photo and keep it in an missing persons album 🙏🏼 Angela was last seen wearing black pants, a pink shirt, she is 5’6”, black/brown long hair, brown eyes and was 28 years old at the time of her disappearance. Finally I share the story of Issac Iwaasas who had been missing since November 2019. Issac had left his mother’s house in Lethbridge the night of the 17th of November to go back to Calgary and has not been found since. Issac’s disappearance has many twists and turns and a ton of unanswered questions as a few days after his disappearance his truck was found torched in Pemberton, BC - a place no one expected him to be. His family shared his story on Paramount + Never seen again S1 Episode 7, which I highly recommend watching this series too. Each one of these stories hits my heart in different and same ways. Each one has family they are missing and no answers. If you feel called to, please go look them up and screenshot pictures and keep those eyes up and aware for those missing Canadians. Join me next month for the next segment of Missing people 🇨🇦 Saskatchewan edition.

Episode 254 Being Real about MAIDs
In today’s episode, Hails & I revisit a topic that’s both controversial & driving the progression train off a cliff. Now before ANYONE comes at EITHER of us about this, please go watch the entire episode. We are not talking about Track 1… although I’d have arguments as well that that is inhumane BUT today our focus is on the progression of this “compassionate care” program. People can keep saying that it’s only those who are suffering and no cure but babes, that’s just not true. Canadians are being offered death vs Hope and I cannot in good conscience sit here and not TALK ABOUT THIS!! When we first reported on this in 2023 our concerns were the loopholes they’ll find, the pressure people are under in this economy and just the idea death is even mentioned WHEN WE ALL KNOW IT IS A CHOICE, always will be and has been, is down right diabolical and not considered appropriate bed side manner. Hails and I go over several situations in this country where those vulnerable have been offered this “service” and are no longer here or have been speaking out to share that this is IN FACT happening. We share basic information on what this program is, how it’s been used/abused & our general worries about how mental health is a baby hair away from being approved for assisted death. Now I’ll play devils advocate because your girl needs to have balanced opinions here… sound off below if you’ve witness what you believe to be compassionate care with the MAIDs program. Equally would love for other Canadians to hear when and how you were offered MAID vs treatment in your healing by journey 👇🏼Everyone is going to have their own lens here. My ask is you take it off for just today to be open to BOTH sides of the conversation. To hold compassion for your fellow brothers and sisters as like is fucking HARD. But we have empathy, compassion, love and unity to get us through ❤️ You guys know I have a thing for informed consent. To have informed consent you need all options, ideas and experiences on the table. Let 2026 be the year we strive for the most informed society we can by being open and real ❤️

Episode 251 Being real about being a Corporate Girlie
In this amazing final interview of Season 10 I bring on my girl Adrianna and we talk about corporate life! We travel through our careers and the different avenues it has taken us over the years. In very Be Real Babe fashion we veer off topic a few times but it all relates back. Your job, your career is a lot of who you are and what you do. And hey maybe that’s not always what you want but what you need to do and we get it! Corporate is not for the faint of heart or weak skinned. You confront every insecurity you have. You have to remain professional and not react to succeed. You have to be open to learning, being wrong and doing what you are told. Maybe some people hate then and that’s ok! Do you babe. I thrive, others melt. No shade here EXCEPT: If you have any online business, mlm or online salesperson, STOP HATING ON US CORPORATE GIRLIES GOD DAMN. We out here doing things some people couldn’t imagine and we get shaded so YOU can make more in your downline? Fuuuuuuck outta here with that. We can all exist. Except I don’t hate on you to make money 😘 Join me and Adrianna as we share all the positives we’ve experienced in corporate 🙌🏻

Episode 250 Being real about Missing People 🇨🇦 BC Edition
In today’s episode I am launching a new series that will continue in season 11. But the immense amount of missing people in Canada needs to be talked about and cannot wait for a few months. This series begins in British Columbia. My home. Where missing people are more of an issue than almost any other province here. Although I cannot cover all open cases in this series, I urge you to go to missingpeople.ca to find the mass lists of missing humans to learn more. This series begins with three individuals. None of them are connected but all pull deeply at my heart. Ryan Shutka went missing in Sun Peaks on Feb 17th 2018. He was at a silent disco, left to a party with friends, then when they left they thought he was behind them… he has yet to be seen since. Years of investigating and searching for him have left them with more questions than answers. Where did Ryan go? Who knew what actually happened that night? Plenty of speculation but no one coming forward. Amber Manthorne. My dear Amber ❤️ Amber was last seen heading home in Port Alberni July 8th 2022. The last known person to have seen her alive was her then boyfriend Justin Hall. Who police have said they believe he is directly responsible for her disappearance. Justin was found dead a year after her disappearance, making it now nearly impossible to solve this case. Unless someone out there knows what happened and will come forward with information. Justin was seen leaving port with her car, a suitcase and a tote and no Amber. This tote and her phone have yet to be recovered. He was seen trying to flee the island and turned around and ditched her car in Cassidy. RCMP are still working on this case but they will need help from the public to help fill in any blanks, so please come forward if you know anything. The final missing persons case I bring to this series is the one of Cole Hosack who was just passing through Dawson Creek New Year’s Eve 2023 and was never seen again. Cole was hanging out at a few local places and is seen taking off from one, looking like he is running away, and he’s never seen on cameras again. A truck was seen taking off in the same direction shortly after. The family is getting little to no help, as much of the families of missing people in Dawson experience, leaving everyone even more lost and hurt from the lack of support on this case. This man has a child at home, a family who loves him yet are left out to dry for support. We as Canadians need to band together around these families and at least speak about these cases as much as possible. I cannot imagine what these families are going through and I have no idea how to help but this is a start for me. Let’s all screenshot these photos, keep up to date with missing people cases in Canada and share the FUCK out of these stories. Stop wasting time with Hollywood drama or sports game when families are out there missing members. Yes we can have both but are also supporting fellow Canadians or leaving it all up to the government? They are proving that they don’t have the resources or they don’t care. I wanna believe it’s the first but WE THE PEOPLE can care. Praying for answers for all families in Canada who are missing a loved one. Please always reach out if you need someone to talk to or have a case you want me to highlight!

Episode 249 Being real about Conspiracy Theories #1
In this amazingly fun and insane episode I am joined by @grillgirlrobyn to start the year off right and we are talking all about conspiracy theories!! Now before you get all weird and judgy and refuse to be open …. Don’t 😂 We talk about how we both got shoved down rabbit holes during the pandemic into such dark places we were both nearly physically ill from it. If you know, you know!! You get so deep in dark information you wonder what is the point of life even? Everything is evil and corrupt. But it led us both back to God. Back to faith. Back to a guided higher power vs no spiritual belief and feeling lost. We go back and forth of things we have learned over the years, whether true or not and we remain open the hole convo on things we may not have known before. That’s the key isn’t it?! In this information war?Take in the info, don’t be married to it & be ever flowing with it. The biggest take away is to not rely on any false god out there whether that be celebrities, politicians or rich folk because they aren’t on the same field as you. Take it with a grain of salt. Same as with what we are talking about here! Just have fun with it. If it’s too dark then stay away or pretend it’s fiction 😂 keep your mental health first and foremost! But if you like weird convos and deep conspiracy talk then this one is for youuuuu!!

Episode 246 Being Real with Men's Mind Collective
In today’s episode Ryley joins me in studio to chat all about Men’s Mind Collective. Gearing up to launch in early 2026, Ryley takes me through how the Collective idea came to fruition, his aspirations with this project and what this means to him. Born and raised in central Alberta, Ryley had always had close friends around him to motivate and support him but once he made a city move, finding that same connection didn’t as easy. Currently living with the love of his life, chasing his dream career while also working as a crane operator he felt something was missing. A close group of friends beside him. & we all know how hard and weird it is to make friends as an adult AMMMMIRITE?! And like where tf do you go?Ryley could not find anything to help bring men together either locally or online…. So he is creating it! We go over what some of his struggles have been, how he’s overcame them, how he wants to build a resource for men to come together, help one another and motivate each other in ways that have been lost the last few years. We love when people see a need and fill a need. You can find this collective at mensmindcollective.com

Episode 245 Being real about our Hawaii Vacation
ALOHAAAAAAA BABES! In today’s episode I go over our recent trip to Hawaii!! In 2014 I went to Honolulu with my mama and we stayed right in Wakiki beach and it was SO AMAZING I suggested it for our long overdue trip outside Canada! It was not hard to convince G to go so we found an adorable Air BNB very close to the beach, saved money and got our own little paradise oasis for the week. We did so much to nothing but relaxing on the beach. From the zoo to the Diamond head hike to a 16 point island tour to a sunset cruise, I think we only made it to half of what Hawaii has to offer. The city is flooded with Hawaii culture with a mix of everything to ensure tourists feel at home. Most welcoming vibes ever 🙏🏼 And just as we arrived they started decorating for Christmas 🎄 my fave time of year! Join me in this solo episode as I take you on our trip to Oahu. Mahalo for being here 🤙🏼

Episode 244 Being real with Be Easy
In this episode I get real with @beeasyfaceyoga about face yoga, her journey to this practice & so much real talk you guys are not ready. Not only has Kat grown up in areas that were very face/body manipulation friendly but as a millennial she also gets the ridiculous push of “anti-aging” that is upon us every damn day since we were born. Growing up she realized she didn’t look like what people were saying is the standard of beauty, which I feel we all relate to, and it took a toll on her mentally. But as she aged, like me, she saw the absolute privilege to be alive and felt like the focus should be on living a healthy, authentic life vs changing who we are meant to look like, like our family 🥹 As she was waiting for her first Botox apt, Kat found face yoga and I am sure saved herself from a lot of grief with those products by pausing on the Botox and trying the alternative instead. Since being a yoga instructor for 13 years at the time, this practice lined up perfectly with her focus as it was. Supporting movement and tension release within the body, having focus time for self care/love and to be really present where you are now. Accepting and loving that. Now Kat offers a program called “Find your Face Freedom” where not only does she teach the proper techniques but she dives even deeper. How are we holding our faces? Are we reacting in ways we didn’t realize? Is there a way to be softer? Contrast to that, are you willing to let go of some of things causing these perceived “issues”?! Cuz I sure ain’t giving up being little spoon with my spouse or the big spoon to my cats, just to avoid a deeper face line. But maybe those are some things you are and didn’t realize we’re doing! That is what Kat is here to help with. To help you embrace your unique, beautiful face and maybe recognize some behaviours or patterns that could help you age a bit more gracefully!! She’s even given us a free nugget to try out: www.BeEasy.Life/BabeYou can find her website below & make sure to tune in on apple, Spotify or rumble!! www.FindYourFaceFreedom.com

Episode 243 Being real about Parasite Cleansing
In this amazing episode, I am joined again by Robyn aka The Grill Girl and she takes me on another journey she’s been on and excited to share with us. This time we aren’t diving into mental healing as we did with soul fracturing (Ep 238) we get into gut health and parasite cleansing! As one does, Robyn has been through seasons of different diets throughout her life and shares all the things she has learnt through diving deeper into her physical health. She was diagnosed with SIBO and that took her down a journey to healing her gut, parasite cleansing and learning what works best for her.She shares her experience with parasite cleansing, how she is healing her gut and putting all this type of love and knowledge inside her latest cookbook. Because its us we also talk about our environment, like what’s in our skies and soil, we talk about how so much information is out there but you can’t always trust it and how the suppression of natural remedies can affect everyone’s ability to choose for themselves. Amazing episode again with so much knowledge and real talk I am so grateful to share these types of convos!

Episode 242 Being real about Fleeing Canada
In this 2 part episode you get a front row seat to the event that happened here in Kelowna, hosted by Torva & an amazing catch up afterward! On Oct 19th, at the Rotary Center in Downtown Kelowna an event called “Fleeing Canada to save her Life - an evening with Torva Logan“ took place & we were able to capture the whole thing, even including the questions in house and online. Torva takes us through her journey from start to now, her hopes for the future & scary stats all Canadians should be aware of. Guiding us through her presentation of heavy personal experiences, others equally worrisome experiences and her hopes for Canadian healthcare’s future. At 1:09 ish, we jump back into the studio and we chat about her time here with me, her return to the country/province she’s been medically exiled from and how her life has been the past 6 months in Texas. Naturally we shit talk the gov and share some pretty beautiful moments on our visit.

Episode 241 Being real about Drugs
In this episode my babe Darrian joins me and we take an adventure down memory lane and what it was like in our time to do drugs and the recovery we’ve had from those times. Back in our time, I don’t think as many heavy and pharmaceutical drugs were at the same height they are now. While some teens did heavier drugs for sure, most of us were just smoking weed and drinking. Now you got 13 years old on pharmaceutical meth essentially and safe supply here in BC. So what was it like in our teens and 20’s? How did we bounce back from the party life that we both got heavily hooked into? Listen to an elder and baby millennial share their experiences of what doing drugs was like in the early 2000’s 😜

Episode 239 Being real about Bodybuilding with Lexa
In this amazing episode I get the chance to pick Lexa’s brain about all things Bodybuilding! A gf sent me Lexa’s account because she knew I would love her raw and real takes in the bodybuilding space and she was absolutely correct! Lexa’s approach to being a coach and a bodybuilder herself is so refreshing. Focusing more on body led coaching, individualized program and a holistic, all around approach when supporting her clients so they have all of the tools available. We talk about the toxic portions of the bodybuilding world from competition to coaching and of course we share the wins too! Not just her wins in competing and being a coach but the improvements being seen industry wide too. There is a lot of bad advice out there but there is equally really good advice and really good, caring coaches out there like Lexa so don’t be afraid of jumping in with a coach, just make sure to find a door as hell one like Lex! Even if you aren’t needing a coach, her IG is a wealth of knowledge and real talk about bodybuilding and you know we love that over here 💅🏼

Episode 238 Being real with Grill Girl Robyn
In today’s episode I am joined by a spicy little firecracker who is know as Grill Girl Robyn. Robyn is known for her unreal grilling skills, her ability to inspire women to get out there and grill and her absolute zest for life 🙌🏻 But what people don’t see is what happens behind the success. The personal trials she has faced while building her empire and the moments that nearly took her down. Robyn experienced a soul fracture that changed her life and had her searching for answers. She felt like she was going crazy and on a downward spiral until she learned about soul fracturing. Once she learned more it all clicked and now she’s on a path of sharing this experience so others don’t feel so alone. She is so raw and real in this episode and I’m eternally grateful my guests come on to share the most vulnerable parts of them so you don’t feel so alone ❤️ When starting her online blog years ago, she had no idea her dreams would become her reality but no one really talks about the trials alone the way and today we change that!

Episode 237 Being real about Botox injury #6
In today’s episode we carry on spreading the word about Botox Injury. In Part 6 of this series, I am joined by an amazing woman from the UK, Victoria, who barely made it through her final Botox experience. Botox was something Victoria did semi annually for 25 years. Not once did she experience any side affects or negative outcomes in all those years until just before her 50th birthday. Due to this fact, she decided to get a little more than her usual spots and go for a little more since she was headed on a trip soon and since she wasn’t informed truly of what happened, she did not see any issue to go ahead with the treatment. Shortly after her apt, she stating experiencing numbness and blurred vision. Slowly more and more symptoms kept happening to the point she decided to go into the doctors. In passing she had mentioned she had Botox & luckily this doctor knew immediately she needed to get to the hospital as she was experiencing botulism. The amount of people in the UK that know about this is very rare, so this man truly saved her life. After 12 hours of being in the hospital, she received the anti toxin and started her recovery path. A long one that involved being in the hospital for a week, a feeding tube for 3 months and the need for a speech theorist to learn how to talk again among other things. Luckily Victoria was able to heal enough to still go on her trip for her birthday, she has a new found appreciation for life & was able to educate a lot of people in her area (specially in a medical school nearby) what can happen with Botox. I’m so grateful these strong women come on the show and share their stories so less people maybe have to go through this or go through it alone ❤️ Everyone who has experienced this is more than happy to help support so make sure to ask the questions, be open to others experiences and always lead with compassion when navigating this space. Victoria’s body was being poisoned slowly and made it very close to her lungs and heart. It’s a serious thing that can happen and we just want you to be aware. Real stories not rare stories 🫶🏻

Episode 236 Being real about Mental Health & Medications
In this amazing episode I bring a personal and fan fave Hollie G!! As we do we catch up on life and her newest adventures like her “Coming home to self” work shop series and amazing crafty workshops too. Then we dive into her experiences with mental health from postpartum depression and ADHD and the tools she has used to manage. We talk about how postpartum can look so different depending on the environment and state you are in to her having insane side effects from her medications. I always have and always will support your choices with your mental health and body butttt please please make sure you know the side effects and take them seriously so you don’t put yourself at further risk ❤️ you mamas are famous for pushing it away. So grateful to have Holls here to celebrate 10 seasons and her like 13th? 14th? I’ve lost count episode.

Episode 235 Being real about going Left to Right
In this awesome episode, I bring Jamie back on the show to catch up on hows she’s doing with her vaccine injury and politics!! Ahhhh scary politics. If you’ve been around long enough you know this show has had its history on being political and I actually haven’t really stopped just moved it to YouTube however, I wanted to talk to Jamie about her political experience. Growing to in the 90s, we didn’t really hear about politics. Maybe some gov shade but not to the point kindergarteners had opinions on politicians 🤣 We both agree that we should be talking politics and we should be having the hard convos but we should not let it ruin relationships. We’ve both gone from being more progressive and liberal in our 20s to finding ourselves aligning more with conservative values currently. And we have to wonder if we really changed or did what a lib/con change? Personally I’m tired of being label so many nasty titles just from the box I checked at voting time and who I feel I align closer with. Doesn’t mean we hate anyone because we voted a certain way and we get why people say don’t talk about politics if you don’t wanna lose friends BUT WHY?? I get it but I also think we need to do some self reflection, some emotional regulation stop taking everything so personally so we can actually come together. We are so focused on our own lens and views of the world we often forget others have wildly different views based of their knowledge/experiences and that doesn’t make anyone enemies. But let’s talk about it. Why did we change or did we?! How did we get here and how can we get out?!Join us in the beautiful conversation about our political awakenings!

Episode 234 Being real about the risks of Breast Implants
In this episode, I bring an absolute fire cracker, Rini, on the show to share her deeply personal journey through breast implant illness, the emotional and physical challenges she faced, and the impact of societal beauty standards on her decisions. From her initial confidence in her body to the complications that arose from surgery, Rini's story highlights the importance of informed consent and the need for support for women navigating similar experiences. (TW child loss)After having her amazing children and the unimaginable loss of one of her children, Rini was in the depts of grieving her child and working through her postpartum body dysmorphia while also being surrounded by perfectly sculpted when she decided to get a mommy make over. Unknowingly though this would start a very long journey leading to a mastectomy and ongoing challenges of healing, both physically and emotionally, as she seeks to reclaim her identity and advocate for others. We discuss the complexities of informed consent in surgery, particularly in the context of plastic surgery while exploring the risks associated with these procedures, the societal pressures surrounding beauty standards, and the journey towards self-acceptance and body positivity. Rini shares her personal experiences and insights on aging, the impact of societal expectations on women's self-image, and the importance of community support. This beautiful conversation emphasizes the need for informed choices, self-reflection, and embracing one's natural beauty while rejecting unrealistic beauty ideals.

Episode 233 Being real about Mindsets, Manifesting, Resiliency & Woo Woo Shit with Torva
In the first guest episode of the season, just like I started my fall season last year I got the honour to sit down again with Torva and dive deeper into her life and experiences with mindest, manifesting, gratitude, resilience, self advocacy ALL THE FREQUENCY AND WOO WOO shit. We start this visit with a great catch up on her medical journey with keeping cancer away this time compared to last and how they have been adjusting to life in Texas while still advocating for a better life for Canadians. We get into the differences between doing these practices like gratitude and mindset work like checking off a box versus doing these practices with intention, patience and trust. Wanting to control the outcome and being so focused on the goal versus the life experience and journey along the way and how that can lead to major burn out was one of my fave parts about this convo! We also talk about how past traumas can have impacts on our current life through limiting beliefs, the importance of authenticity over toxic positivity and the very real fear of success. There are so many incredible nuggets in this episode I cannot list them all!! It was the perfect way to set the tone of the season. Grateful. Intentional. Impactful. 🤌🏻

Episode 230 Being real about the Diddy Trial
As I wrap up season 9, I figured a catch up episode to the Diddy Trial is on deck. Now if you watch the YouTube show, you would have seen these throughout the last few months but if you haven’t… Here is the entire Diddy Trial from my point of view, gathering the highlights from articles and just listening to others views as well to get an idea of what happened. From jury selection, to the trial and testimonies, to the results, I put all the YouTube updates into one 3 hour episode!! Here is the breakdown if you want to just catch up on certain parts! 3:44 Jury selection 20:36 Week 1 of trial 47:47 Week 2 of trial 1:13:45 Week 3&4 of trial 1:57:19 Week 5&6 of trial 2:31:08 Week 7 of trial & verdict 2:48:19 After trial thoughts I guess when I asked in December 2024, if he did or didn’t do it… he did but not to the level I thought he would get that’s for sure!

Episode 229 Being real about single vs dating life
My last guest episode before we wrapped season 9. Holyyyyyy shit. And of course I have to have my queens back to wrap this season up with me talking shit about dating, being single and relationships! Jk it’s not a spill tea episode it’s more like … here is my crazy experience that is similar but different then yours and now I’m healing and grateful for it all kinda of episode. Me, Brie & Darrian chat about our eras in life and how we’ve experienced being single or dating or in a committed relationship throughout. From our chaotic younger years being messy and crazy in love, to learning the hard lessons about others and ourselves, what toxic behaviour is and red flags to look out for, how we’ve become who we are today because of that and what we think you should know if you are either single or happily taken. Or maybe you are miserably taken and this could help you decide on how to navigate your relationship.Orrrr maybe you are happily in a relationship and just wanna shout it from the rooftops and some of this validates your excitement being taken. It’s truly beautiful to see how, even in the darkest relationships, our darkest times, we can blossom into even more with the right amount of healing and self preservation that eventually lead us to our person when the time is right 🥰 Join the girlies and I for the final guest episode of le season!

Episode 228 Being real about TSW Topical Steroid Withrawal
In this incredible mother daughter episode, I chat with long time listeners Adrianna & Shamra about their insane experience with TSW. Just after a few days of being born, Shamra was given some steroid cream while she waited to see a dermatologist for a strawberry birth mark. Derm says nope, don’t need that… stop using it. Then begin the awful repeated 11 year journey of what they know now to be Topical Steroid Withdrawal. Unfortunately this wasn’t something they were told could happen, was a thing or even told after years of being in and out of the doctors offices with no true answers. Just more meds and more confusion. Because these professionals were so adamant about Shamra having eczema, allergies and eventually asthma TSW was not a conversation. They just accepted this was her life. Until one day… mama bear was on fb & she stumbled across a situation that looked eerily similar to Shamra’s. In the comments people kept saying TSW. She then, as we all do, jumped down the rabbit hole and came out with - holy fuckin shit it’s the meds that are supposed to be helping her… they are making her worse… has this always been the case?! Wtf. Shamra started the incredibly hard journey of weaning off the cream but you can imagine the freak out her entire skin had. Imagine a really hyper addict who hasn’t used for hours and is extremely inconsolable and violent. That’s what this poor queens skin does. I didn’t even cover the mental anguish, the divide illnesses like this can cause at home and within the family and the fact that someone called CPS on Adrianna because of her daughter’s condition. Luckily thanks to her mama, her grandma and her spouse Shamra can live a somewhat normal life but always has to be in high alert to her surroundings in case they cause a flare up. Incredible powerful duo I had the absolute honour of meeting and I think you should too ❤️

Episode 226 Being real about Canada VS USA
So excited to have Torva back on the show to catch up on her healing journey and her latest experience with cancer returning & now she fled to the US again plus we get into this Canada vs the US thing that is apparently a thing in 2025. I wanted to learn more what it was like to grow up in the US to contrast what it was like growing up in Canada and Torva is the perfect person to do that with because she’s lived in both and is also so easy to listen too! Both of us have love and hate for both countries. We don’t believe we should be fighting and we really see the benefit of unity between the countries. Although in some ways we are vastly different but a lot of the ways we are the same. Just really a line that has a bit different rules on one side than the other. One of the biggest differences to me high level is politics and the military. Politics seems much more talked about in the states up until the last few years in Canada and now it’s just as chaotic 😂 & I found it rare to meet a military family in Canada whereas it seems much more of a common thing in the states. Blows my mind still that I was in grade 8 (misspoke stating high school 😂) while Torva was just landing planes for 9/11 with the military. Join us for an awesome chat about our countries and the silliness this “fight” is. We have enough to deal with man… let’s not fight with our siblings like this!

Episode 225 Being real about Botox Injury Part 5
In the final part of my Botox Injury series for the season, I had the honour to interview one of my fave women Angela to share her final experience with Botox. Like the other guests, Ang had zero idea this type of reaction was a possibility. Botox is something that is sold to you around every corner, every medical office and the pressure to remain ageless is more viscous than ever before. More people are doing it on the regular so it’s gotta be safe and normal, right? Ang didn’t really consider doing Botox at first until she started seeing advertisements and the thought process began of wanting to prevent wrinkles. I often wonder if this thought would be thought if it wasn’t marketed to us. 🤔 They really grab us and take hold don’t they 😩But since it’s so normalized she thought nothing of it and thought why not!?! Years went by with no issues. One December day in 2023 she received 189 units of dysport and went about her life having zero clue what was ahead. She was a busy mama, wife and photographer so when symptoms started popping up over the first few weeks after her appointment, she chalked it up to being busy or possibly getting sick or being a mama (you guys do this too much!) But after day 17 things turned drastically worse. She ended up in the hospital showing signs of strokes and zero answers of what was happening. She was finally able to get her validation that it was in fact the Botox but unfortunately nothing more than time can help. Well I mean there’s the anti-toxin but that’s apparently only if you are inches to death 😩 Now nearly 18 months out she shares what it was like going through this, being gaslit the entire time and while going through it, she also had to deal with online silly mo-fos denying her experience. She’s one of the strongest women I’ve been so blessed to meet along my journey and I’m so proud of the growth and healing she’s done. Not just on her own journey but helping every one else along the way. I’m so happy to see the tides slowly changing and her spicy spark is coming back stronger than ever 💥 Join myself and Ang as she walks me through life before and after her Botox Injury.

Episode 224 Being real about Botox Injury Part 4
In the 4th part of this series, I bring Kaley on to share her experience with Botox and the final appointment that changed her entire life. She had just stepped away from a career as an OR nurse for nearly a decade and was going to focus on getting married and starting a family. She had been receiving Botox for the cosmetic side of things and although she did have mild side effects in the past, once she got her masseters done, she was in an entirely different experience. Immediately she felt relief from her headache but her jaw felt like she was beat up. Calling her injector, she ensured her that it was normal and to carry on. A few days later things slowly then quickly turned for the worse. Kaley was struggling to swallow during a dinner a few days later. She went to sleep and when she woke up, she felt like she was extremely heavy, feeking like her arms were bricks, she knew something was wrong. As it tends to do her symptoms progressed to heart palpitations, chest pains, nasal congestion & a heavy body… plus all the mental anguish to work through. After been gaslit several times as one does with this journey, she was validated that it was the Botox but she did not qualify for the anti-toxin…. The journey these women have to take is absolutely insane. The follows up to try to figure out what’s wrong just to be told tests are normal and it can’t possibly be the Botox hurts my brain 🤯 I’m glad more and more women are feeling empowered to speak up and share their experiences. Hopefully more women will have more informed consent so they know what they are facing if they choose to inject.Kaley is on her way to being mended but time is truly all that can heal and I truly hope she comes out of this stronger and feistier than ever! We just want informed consent babes ❤️

Episode 223 Being real about Invisible Illness
Today’s most amazing episode I am joined by my mama 🥰 Something we don’t ever really talk about is invisible illness but it’s something that has been apart of our lives for 30 years now. When my mom turned 28 she was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. A chronic pain disease that has zero chance of going away forever and comes with a long list of symptoms. Symptoms she tries very hard to hide it from the world but sometimes it’s down right debilitating. Things she used to do in her early 20s started slipping away over time. Fatigued kicked in and being a single mom she just assumed at first life was just taking a toll on her. But after she had my little brother, we got into a bad accident and that took her illness into a whole new level of pain and discomfort that she could no longer work. Her focus had to be on figuring out how to manage her Fibro while being a mama of 3. Thank Jesus cuz she’s made it 30 years and is truly the best mom I know. I’m so grateful for all she has taught me and all we have been through together. Without my mother’s strength, I and this show would not be here. Her resilience is unreal. Her desire to live a normal life is strong and we try to fister that whenever we are with her. To her she thinks she’s a burden but truly it’s just to give thanks to her for never giving up and always still giving us 100% no matter how she has felt. We always try to look at the positives. We are alive. We have each other. We have our family. We have a beautiful country to call home. Every day is a new day. And I hope those with invisible illness feel seen and heard in this episode ❤️

Episode 222 Being real about all body movements
Today’s episode is a solo episode and I chat all about body movements! Now look before anyone @s me this subject was hard for me to talk about. Mainly because growing up I was told I wasn’t allowed to have a positive or negative feeling about my body as I was “skinny” therefore I did not have any body dysmorphia 😏 ok And that’s one of the parts of these movements I find are red flags. Telling someone they cannot speak because they have a different body than you. I worked very hard in this episode to acknowledge that I have one experience and there are many others who will have different ones. The projection that happens sometimes while talking about body sizes is a little crazy and an area I think we can all self reflect. “Beauty standards” exist because we live in them. We blame outside sources for our body hate but at the end of the day, if we keep living in them… aren’t we to blame? Perhaps there’s internal work we have to do here before blaming everyone around us for our personal hatred. Like the body neutrality and positivity movements share, we are so much more than our bodies. The focus should be on one’s ability, kindness, generosity and character not what size they are. I am well aware that there is hate no matter what size you are hence the creation of these movements. I am grateful these movements started to bring light to all areas of body shaming. It should happen ever. And I think the only time body size should matter is when said person is clearly in medical distress and that is hard to know judging from the outside. So I think we keep calling out the red flags to all sizes of the scale here as well as celebrate the green flags at the same time. Which I hope came through in this episode. We all have commonality here. Lack of self confidence, inner self hatred and at the end of the day, most of us have had comments on our bodies, good and bad. And that can fuck you up! But we work internally to not react to others opinions because they are just like stink stars. Everyone has one, it’s nothing special ❤️

Episode 221 Being real with Girl Dinner
In today’s episode I bring on two electric Canadian podcast babes to share their journey creating their weekly show “Girl Dinner”. Sam & Amber knew one day the stars would align and the right time would present itself to launch their comedy podcast to the world! In 2024 they did just that and starting creating a community of snackers, who like us, share their real and raw thoughts, opinions and experiences but with a comedic twist 🙌🏻 Between the both of them they can cover a large demographic with Sam being a mama/content creator/small business owner & Amber being a real estate agent dog mama in central Alberta, these dark humour millennials babes are just what the doctor ordered. Every Wednesday you can catch them on platforms like Spotify and Apple to give your week the little giggle we all know we need! I love how their friendship has only been enhanced by this project and how much it has ignited their creative fires in both their professional and personal lives. Best advice I think we all feel about doing something like a podcast is to be authentic. Be real 😏 do you! And your people will come! Join myself, Sam and Amber in this super light and funny episode! With a side of dark humour of course 😉

Episode 220 Being real about Holistic Business with Lacey & Sofia
In today’s episode I am joined by two powerhouse women who have been incredibly wronged by the same person and are on a mission to warn others. Lacey & Sofia were both making their way through their nursing careers when they stumbled across what they thought could be an amazing opportunity. To help others, further their careers, their knowledge, their reach. Turns out the only opportunity there ended up being is a loss of money, mental health & trust. After months of talking about opening clinics across Alberta, on-boarding tons of other hopeful nurses, and having a leader doing the bare minimum at best, opening day came and it was a disaster. Not what either had hoped for. But the disaster didn’t end there. Paycheques were missed, questions left unanswered, bills not paid, and employees who gave up their careers to take a chance at a Holistic Health Clinic were left hanging and on read while the owners galavanted across the world. After a chaotic time with this small business these women were left to fend for themselves with no restitution in sight. No apology. No legal action to be taken. For absolutely wild reasons they were let go… still owed wages. The owners aren’t even Canadians so not much any governing body can do, and not much these women can do either. How is this ok?! How does a trauma coach inflict so much pain and walk away like everything is pretty much fine? How can they carry on knowing how much money, time and energy had been wasted on their promises?! How are people like this getting away with this? Karma. I hope she shows up in this one. Join me, Lacey & Sofia as we chat about their experience working with a Holistic Business in Canada.

Episode 219 Being real about the Fentanyl Crisis
In today’s episode I bring my babe Hails back to chat with me about the Fentanyl crisis here in Canada. This is such a hard topic to cover and I do not claim to know a fucking thing but I really want to start the conversation. What is happening in this country that is moving the needle to extreme crisis? Are the current measures in place really it? Are they really helping over the last decade? What are we doing to help now? It’s so sad to see people being captured by this substance and offered little to no support. I’m not sure the policies with safe supply and harm reduction have really made a dent in this crisis. Some of the policies being put at the borders may be helping but what happens when it’s made here and distributed?! Anyone have any idea how we can help this crisis not become wildly out of control?!

Episode 218 Being real about Grief
Today’s guest episode is about navigating life through the loss of a spouse. The grief that comes with, the changes/challenges you face as a single parent & how it’s important to work through the uncomfortable and support those living this experience. One I know Courtney doesn’t wish on anyone as she unfortunately has learned first hand what it’s like to lose a husband, the father of her children and have to navigate that while going to school chasing her dream. December 20th, 2022 their lives changed forever when Pete was in an accident he unfortunately lost his life from. Courtney walks me through that day of the accident, the following weeks and how the years have been as she moved along this journey to finding parts of her old self. She shares incredible insight on how couples should have the hard talks about death and what each other would want if the unfortunate time comes when a funeral needs to be planned. Get to know what’s important to them and try hard to not let the little things like socks on the floor get to you because at the end of the day it’s minor. She blew me away when she said one of the things she holds onto are the survivors who got to walk away and live their lives. 4 people could have been lost that day but 3 got to go home and she finds the beauty in knowing they have a chance at life. Told you she is extremely selfless person. Now Pete. In memory of you my dude. Pete was such a kind yet quick witted guy. Laid back but also such a hard worker. He immediately took on the father role for Courtney’s daughter and watching them get married and have their son was truly such a beautiful story to watch. I feel absolutely honoured to have captured that love for them over the years as they allowed me into these special moments of their lives. Fromliterally day one of them I began my photography journey and I just knew then, their story was going to beautiful. I’m really sorry and sad to see it won’t be forever but Pete will never be forgotten and he will live on through his memory and the family who loves him so much ❤️ Please have a listen and make sure to check in on our friends babes.

Episode 217 Being real about the Covid Vax
In today’s episode, my wonderful guest Jamie walks me through her experience getting the Covid BEEEEP. Leading up to it, as we all know, Ontario was one of the most dystopian places here in Canada. Isolation and fear was at an all time high for many people, on all sides, with very little ability to converse openly about it. Due to this inability to talk to your medical team or anyone about what you were about to get was very difficult. A lot of people went in having zero idea what could happen. And some fearing the worst. Jamie had a balanced approach about getting it and even though she did move forward with it, she accepted everyone had a different choice and respected that. It wasn’t something she wanted to do, but to keep her family afloat she had to. At the time she also worked in a school where pressure to get it was high and she was being watched. After receiving the first one, some things were starting to act a bit weird. After the second one she passed out… and then she got covid and her ailments became much MUCH worse. To the degree where she has to focus on her health non stop to prevent further damage and has to plan and sacrifice certain things, like working, to be able to ensure she lives. Join us today and she walks me through what being an Ontarian during the pandemic was like and what led her to getting the BEEP, how it went down and what she is dealing with today. Keeping it vague since I’ve been getting community guidelines for this episode… apparently it’s 2022 all over again.

Episode 216 Being Real about Botox Injury Part 3
Oh she’s just “panicking” seems to be the common answer among all three of the guests in this series. Laura decided to give Botox a try at the beginning of January and was in emergency under a month later with doctors who saying all her tests came back clear and she must just be panicking. I am not sure how this is such a miss with all of these experiences and how looping back to Botox isn’t even a thought. Specially when these women are coming to you stating it could be. Join myself and Laura as she shares the lead up to her appointment and the medical chaos train she was taken on.One she is currently healing from, on the mend and ready to share her story so more women have informed consent!

Episode 215 Being Real about Botox Injury Part 2
Another amazingly strong woman sharing her experience with Botox so more women are informed in case they are ever in the same position as she was/still is. Stephanie is a boy mom, a dog mom and an absolute ray of sunshine despite being thrown through the ringer and back (putting it lightly) by a procedure/product that she had been receiving for years. The healing journey and reactions for everyone is going to look different based on each individual but one key take away I frequently here is time, support and gratitude. In their darkest hours these beauties see the light in life still, the reasons to keep pushing although some days they feel like they are dying. And even worse they are gaslit by professionals around all because it’s not something well studied or talked about. So we need to talk about it. Stephanie’s story is one I really hope we stop hearing because no one deserves to have to deal with this. Everyone has the right to informed consent. Make sure no matter what you do babes, you do it informed.

ABOUT THIS SHOW
Welcome to the Be real Babe Podcast. This is a place for us all to come together by sharing learned experiences and our opinions to help each other gather more knowledge & understanding, grow as individuals, heal parts of ourselves, build connections with others with the same experiences and spread awareness to all for compassion in the world 🥰 I truly like to focus on advocacy, ensuring informed consent is happening, stay up to date with what’s happening with Canadians and I like to deep dive into topics some people do not want to talk about or think is controversial but communicating is how we learn so talk we must! Thanks for being here 🥰 Message me for anything!
