Episode 120: Coach Kurt Guesldorf (Associate Head Womens Basketball Coach, Clackamas Community College) Oregon City, ORE

Kurt Guelsdorf is in his 28th year coaching and 2nd at the collegiate level. He began coaching and teaching after earning an undergraduate degree at Portland State University and Arizona State University for teacher education graduate work, and Portland State again for a Masters Degree. Currently Coach Guelsdorf is Associate Head Coach at Clackamas Community College in Oregon City, Oregon. The Cougars have made the NWAC playoffs in each of his two years compiling a 36-17 overall record. Previously, Guelsdorf was the head or co-head girls’ basketball coach at Oregon City High School from 2003- 2018. The Pioneers had a record of 354-67 during that time, an 84% winning percentage. Oregon City also won 13 District Championships and 3 State Championships. His overall record in 21 years as a head high school girls’ basketball coach is 451-123, #8 All-Time in Oregon High School history. Previous to Oregon City, Guelsdorf was at Gresham High School, his alma mater, for 8 years, 6 as head girls’ basketball coach. Guelsdorf has been named District Coach of the Year 8 times and State of Oregon Coach of the Year 2 times. He Co-Coached his first 3 years at Oregon City High School with recent Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame Coach Brad Smith. The Guelsdorf family includes wife of 23 years, Kristin, and twin daughters Kaari and Kylie, 19, and Kaydyn, 15. Dogs include Lucy, Dezi, Maggie, and Hadley.
