Episode 126 Mental Health Madness

from The Be Real Babe Podcast · host Brandi Marie

In this episode we have the two OG babes back in the studio together real talking the mental health madness that has taken over! Now before we get dragged for what we say and feel and have experienced, if you are struggling with any mental health issues, please seek a professional. We are no way saying we know what’s good for anyone, just speculating opinions and sharing our personal experiences in this topic. For many years, we both felt trapped in our illnesses and trapped in the idea that life couldn’t get better. This was it. Even after medication, this was it. A big nothing burger. Life still sucked and we both agreed we didn’t feel connected to life. Sure, emotions were “under control” but they were actually just silenced by drugs. Once you remove that, if you don’t practice emotional regulation, you will feel like you are spiralling. Both of us believe that medicine has its place but it requires so much more than that. You need to sometimes really change your lifestyle to help your mental health. It’s not always easy but it’s so worth it! This is why we don’t believe pills are the be all end all and only option. For sure it comes in handy when live is really just too hard but what else are we doing to set us up for success? Are we truly getting to the root cause of one’s mental health crisis or are we just slapping meds on it and calling it a day. Big differences there. We care about you. So make sure your health care team does too! Join B&K as they chat this phenomenon where you say one thing to the doctor and they dispense a pill. Wild.
