Episode 138 Shamanic Roots of The Big 5
from Garden of Thought · host Jeff Lippman
We are rejoined by Rev. Jim Willis, the author of numerous books on religion of theology. He's also been an ordained minister for over 40 years. He introduces us to the shamanic roots of the world's major religions (Buddhism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism and Judiasm). These roots go back at least 45,000 years and expanded through many culture, peoples and continents. We explore spirituality and the intersections of science and religion starting with cave paintings and exploring motifs such as the displacement and demotion of women, othering, patricide and other usurpations of fathers by sons, twins, trinities, and sacred cows. We're counting lots of tree rings in this one. Welcome to the Garden.
