Episode 14: Evil Becky Burke

from Cultra Trail Running · host Art Byram

One of the challenges of Ultra Running is keeping a positive attitude when things go bad. Becky Burke is an accomplished ultra runner who has faced and overcome many low spots in during her races. She shares what it's like to be in a dark place and introduces us to "Evil Becky" her calorie depleted race persona. To help with the discussion this week we week we invited our Patreons Christina Chin-Hing and Jimmy Mac to come and join us in the studio to act as co hosts as we interview Becky. This show is a combination interview and the typical Cultra hijinks. We enjoy listening to a few Cultra Karayoke songs, and get into an intense game of Cultramatic. The CULTRA trail running podcast is a place where we can get together and discuss all the fun shit that happens on the trails, that most normal people don't care about. CULTRA's headquarters is located in the belly of the beast coast, Glastonbury Connecticut, so most of our stories involve North East Trail running or North East Trail runners. The language used in this show is very explicit and raw like the trails we run on, so don't listen to this with your kids, and if that stuff offends you too much, or if you are a triathlete, or are on some really weird ultra runner fad diet, and can't take a joke, this is definitely not the episode for you. We don't have sponsors at this point, instead we like to recognize the folks that support us. This week we recognize our Patreon Supporters Brian Vanderheiden, Christina Chin-Hing, Clayton Collins, Dan Haggerty, Geoffrey Miller, Jim McCusker, Jimmy McCaffrey, Joseph Nuara, Kristijan Begic, Michael LoPresti, Michelle O'Neil, Stephan and Superfan William Gibbs. Thank you all so much for your support. We had a lot of fun recording this episode and hope you enjoy it.  Information on the CUT112: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1900561896825738/ Support Cultra with a small Monthly Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/CultraTrailRunning PayPal Donation link: Paypal.me.Cultra Twitter: https://twitter.com/blueblazerunner Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/cultratrailrunning/ Facebook:  https://www.facebook.com/CultraTrailRunning/-R&eid=ARAvGAIpGFU6At4y7HqUd_Heqx5OaCT4rtQPiEHvQNuB0aDaF8juSY9Db3ihSqbqgmMgwz2GFQLpMVps
