Episode 152: Managing MS-Related Cognitive Issues and Depression with Dr. Meghan Beier

from RealTalk MS · host Jon Strum and Dr. Meghan Beier

Cognitive decline and depression are two of the more common invisible symptoms of multiple sclerosis, impacting at least half of all the people living with MS.    My guest is Dr. Meghan Beier, an Assistant Professor of Physical Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, and a Rehabilitation Neuropsychologist. Dr. Beier specializes in cognitive rehabilitation and neuropsychological assessment and intervention, and she's going to share some specific strategies that you can use to best manage MS-related cognitive problems and depression.     We're also talking about the newly announced $16 million dollar investment from the National MS Society that will support 50 new MS research initiatives.   We'll tell you about a small pilot study that suggests that ketamine may be effective in treating MS fatigue. And if you're contemplating using a CBD product to help manage your MS, you'll want to hear what the FDA discovered when they checked the labels on 147 different CBD products.   We're even sharing a new, super-easy way for you to add your rating and review of RealTalk MS (and we'd love it if you would!).   We have a lot to talk about!
