Episode #156: Projecting Fear

from Tea Time w/Amie & Bev · host Amie Wade

It can be hard to recognize when we’re projecting our fears and limiting beliefs onto others. We may not even realize it, but it happens more often than we think. When we do this, it is usually due to a desire to keep a person safe from harm or danger. Unfortunately, unknowingly exposing someone else to our worries and concerns can have the opposite effect. The truth is that our fear-based projections rarely help those whom they are intended for. They often create unwarranted worry for the other person which ultimately leads them no closer to safety. It's important to understand that protection does not come through fear; rather it comes from trust and understanding. Rather than placing our fears onto others, we can turn inward and work to heal ourselves. This means recognizing our own limiting beliefs and addressing them with self-love and understanding. It also means allowing those around us to make their own decisions and trusting that they will make the choices that are best for them. By taking a compassionate approach to dealing with fear, we can create an environment of peace rather than one of worry or mistrust. When we trust ourselves and our loved ones enough to let go of control, it creates a space where true protection—not just perceived safety—can exist. By shifting away from projecting difficult emotions onto others, we open up the possibility of creating lasting relationships built on mutual respect and trust. So instead of giving into fear, let love be your guide in protecting those that matter most. Ultimately, when it comes to worrying about the safety of our loved ones, we can choose to project fear or trust—and only one will bring true peace and protection. So, if you feel tempted to worry for someone else’s sake allow yourself to put your faith in love instead. May this conversation be beneficial to your life journey. Many blessings!
