Episode 157 Keeping up with 🇨🇦 Part III

In the next segment of keeping up with 🇨🇦 we talk about the evolution of the MAID program here.   Although we 100% understand the need for these services, there are some concerns we have at how far this could go.   In 2024, they will be reviewing if those with mental health illnesses should be eligible as well as those who currently qualify.   This is a deeply personal decision and one we truly believe those with no other choice should have this option but with a three month wait time, we are worried for those who may make this request by mistake.   Is this taking advantage of the most vulnerable individuals? Is this being set up with enough safe guards?   We didn’t really want to speak on this topic however we are concerned the progression of this may be a bit dangerous here.   We believe every person deserve to live their life and worthy of that. It just feels wrong to say that we are happy this is expanding. It’s quite devastating and sad.   Not entirely sure why more aren’t discussing this.   We hope you can see where we come from here.   Make sure to check in on your friends ♥️ times are tough.
