Episode 161 Keeping up with 🇨🇦 Part IV

In our 4th episode of Keeping up with Canada, we chat about Universal Basic Income and the homeless problem here in Canada. While we have zero idea of what the actual solutions are, we truly believe there has to be better out there. Throwing money at anything doesn’t actually solve any problems. In fact, it truly seems to just create more problems. It’s not always the persons fault of why they are on the streets but without giving them basic survival skills or how to balance said money, are we even sure this will help? You don’t just give addicts money and walk away without any support of how to get clean and use that money for living. And of course that is not all. Not even close. But without addressing why they ended up there and the root cause, UBI is only going to further this issue. Teach a man to fish right?! Stop throwing fish at things and teach/support those in HOW TO FISH. Ya get what I’m saying?! What do y’all think this could lead to?! This will not remove our tent cities. Because no matter how much money you throw, it’s not even close to enough to support people in this economy and with this inflation. Dummies. I’m looking at you CF. Be better girl. Do better for this country. Even middle class people are one bad mistake, one crisis away from losing it all. Is this what Canada wants for itself?!
