Episode 163 :: Nerdy Show Book Club – Go BZRK With Michael Grant

from Nerdy Show

It’s a new Nerdy Show Book Club! If you grew up in the 90s, chances are you read some Animorphs. This shape-shifting sci-fi series was a seminal read for legions of nerdy teens; some of whom may have grown up to host podcasts. Michael Grant and Katherine Applegate (the writing duo better known to Animorphs fans as K.A. Applegate) are back! In this episode we review their latest joint book, Eve and Adam, and interview author Michael Grant who’s recent solo work includes the mega-hit young adult series, Gone and the balls-to-the wall adult sci-fi trilogy: BZRK. Join Cap, Colin, Brandon, and Jessica as we learn about he and Katherine’s crazy life in the world of young adult fiction, the origins of Animorphs, and Grant’s latest projects including the forthcoming conclusion to his balls-to-the-wall BZRK trilogy and the upcoming Messenger of Fear. As always, we discuss what other books we’ve been reading and review our findings. Plus- in this episode there’s not one, not two, but three dramatic readings! Hear us read from Eve and Adam, Star Wench, and the mid-90s parody abortion: Vegemorphs: The Fungus Among Us! You can change your pants… but can you change into a plant? Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
