Episode 165: Believing In A Better Earth

from Rendezvous with Jamie McGlue

Many people will tell you Earth and humanity are doomed, the future is destined to be terrible. We'll keep spiralling into tyranny, psychosis and ecological collapse – and probably go extinct. Further, some will tell you we shouldn't even try to contend with the evil and ignorance spreading before our eyes; they argue that such negative forces must simply be accepted and understood, as each of us is here to evolve our own consciousness and so we should 'rise above fear and resistance' and 'accept life as it is' and simply allow the darkness to teach us. They believe fighting evil only empowers more evil because it keeps us trapped in a lower state of awareness; in fear and control. But I disagree! I would call this 'spiritual reductionism'. It is reducing our multi-levelled reality to a single oneness, and in so doing would lead us to ignore righteousness, the wisdom of the heart. Yes, the awakening soul must embrace life right now exactly as it is, and ground oneself into an unconditional calm. But why can't we do that and still take action to stop evil and unconsciousness from harming innocents, such as our children? To preserve uplifting culture? To preserve ecosystems? And yes, ultimately all is always well, as we are all eternally One with the infinite invincible untouchable immortal universal consciousness; but on another level of the picture, another scale of zooming, it really does matter if Aragorn or Sauron wins the war. It's objectively better if there's less murder, rape, assault, theft, tresspass, coercion and deception. All souls have the natural right to freedom, to live as they choose so long as not depriving others of the same freedom – such as by the seven crimes listed above. What's right really does deserve our allegiance and assistance to manifest; to help nourishing vegetables compete with the weeds. Our hearts know it matters, and children know, though adults may have forgotten or got too tied up in intellectual knots to perceive the simple truth that evil is not ok and love really must fight. Indeed, it may even be that the universe needs us each as individuals and together as a collective movement to combat the darkness in order to keep enough balance for the planet to not self-destruct or head into a permanent totalitarian cul-de-sac such as would prevent any further evolution of consciousness. To say, 'evil is part of God's creation, so we mustn't touch it' is very simplistic – and music to the ears of all who would seek to desecrate the rights of the innocent. Likewise, there are incredible challenges stacked against humanity, but if we dare to believe we can overcome them, we have a chance of success. If we don't believe, we have certainly lost. We can all do something to help the good grow; to limit attacks upon the freedom of sovereign souls. It may be as simple as being kind to others, or as complex as writing books and teaching other people, or building a business which helps empower individuals to protect the innocent. When I call to mind the image of the Earth, the beautiful gardenstone twirling in space, I think of its potential for so much goodness and triumph of love, intelligence, justice and beauty. May you call that image to mind and reflect on the goodness that may become real if we all fight for it. Yes, we should heal ourselves above all. Yes, beyond this we should seek to exert influence over the external world to empower freedom, truth and love. Yes, a better Earth is possible. In what way, little or great, can you help to create it?
