This episodes guest is Dr. Paul Comfort from the University or Salford Manchester.  Paul is the programme leader for the MSc Strength and Conditioning at Salford. While at the University his roles have included Head of Sports Science Support for Salford City Reds Rugby League Football Club (2008-2012), co-ordination of the Strength and Conditioning for England Men's Lacrosse (2008-2012), and he currently co-ordinates the sports science support for Sale Sharks RFU as part of their partnership with the University.   On this episode Paul and I discuss: Paul's background Paul's Influences  What are the good and not so good things that Paul currently see's with the physical preparation and sports science professions, and what solutions would he offer for the not so good things he is seeing Paul and I discuss about his recent book "Advanced Techniques in Strength and Conditioning" that he co-edited with Anthony Turner. Why they decided to take on such project? Paul and I discuss about his research around the use of Olympic lifting variations within the physical preparation of athletes Paul gives us his thoughts on how research with the sport science and strength and conditioning profession could be improved going forward Paul gives us a detail overview of how one should review and study published research Paul shares with us his biggest lessons he has learned so far in his career and life Paul shares his top resources Paul gives us his top advice to all the listeners   This was an outstanding episode and I hope you all enjoy it as much as we did!
