Episode 17 Going Deeper Into Person and Family Centered Care Part II

from Butterfly Arose · host Emily Pittman Newberry

In Episode 16 of Butterfly Arose I used my personal experiences as a patient partner volunteer to talk about the value of Person and Family Centered Care from the patient and family perspective. But PFCC is a process of system improvement, and that means the staff of a health care organization must also be intimately involved. In this episode I'll talk about the third group, the Person and Family Centered Care staff. These are the employees who find patients and their family members who are willing to become volunteers. It also includes those who interact with patients and family members to correct mistakes, internal or external organizational change consultants, and those who act as intermediaries between medical and administrative staff and patient partners. Crooked Butterfly Podcast Brian Chontosh This is me, sharing where I'm arriving in thoughts, perspectives, and ideas after a dynamic 21 years serving in the Marine Corps and wrestling with "Who Am I"; authentically, and Who Do I Want To Be" now that the military construct is not forcibly shadowing my life. I've found that Nature and tackling the physical & emotional challenges of ultra endurance adventuring provide more insight and clarity on the why's of my experiences and the where's that I can seek for continued personal growth. Bink Tank Bink Tank Bink Tank podcast features good friends Bink Baxter and Garrett Wilson. They have known each other since they were about the age of five as their dad’s were and still are best friends. They took several family vacations together, a mission trip to Haiti, a father-son hunting trip, and Garrett even interned at the company Bink works for(SouthStar), but it wasn’t until Garrett joined the SouthStar team a year later that they became brothers. Since then, similar, to their dads’ (Glenn and Mac) relationship, a friendship full of banter and brotherhood formed. Through their friendship the idea of doing a podcast together arose. Their goal with it is to bring a little entertainment and a lot of light with their love for Jesus. Their hope is that any listener will relate in some of the conversations had and feel as if they were a part of the friendship of Bink and Garrett.
