Episode 172: Stealing Crown Jewels - The Louvre Heist

For 800 years, the Louvre has stood at the center of French history. Starting as a medieval fortress and a royal palace, it transformed into the world's most visited museum. But on the morning of October 19, 2025, that history was shattered. Four suspects in disguises broke into the Louvre and stole priceless pieces of French royal jewelry. Some of those jewels had survived revolutions, empires, and two world wars. Police quickly arrested several suspects, but the jewels themselves remain missing. And now, two of the accused have confessed, claiming they were recruited, but they refuse to give the police his identity, fearing for their families' safety. Who hired these men? Where are the missing jewels? And how did thieves pull off one of the most audacious museum robberies in less time than it takes to brew a pot of coffee? In this episode, we will take a dive into the history of the Louvre and the history of the pieces stolen.
