Fireside tales warned of a mysterious killer named 'Cropsey', who was said to live in the tunnels under the abandoned psychiatric facility nearby, and would sneak out at night to steal children. Kids were taught to stay out of the woods, and watch out for Cropsey hiding in the shadows.  It was a fun and thrilling tale, until children started disappearing.
