Episode 18: Carolyn Forte on Vigilance in Protecting Homeschool Freedoms and Lea

from The Homeschool Leadercast · host The Homeschool Leadercast

Vigilance in Protecting Homeschool Freedoms and Learning Styles of ChildrenThere is a spiritual warfare on the homeschooling front.  As homeschooling grows and is more widely accepted, there are many people today who see homeschooling as a threat to their idea of what our culture and society should be; independent, accountable and a strength in Christ’s church today. Homeschooling with very limited, or no government control is a valuable freedom to protect and we must be eternal vigilant in that protection as many opposed to homeschooling want control of our children. Our guest today, Carolyn Forte, a veteran homeschooling parent will be talking to us about the homeschooling movement and our need to be eternally vigilant.  She will also be talking about different learning styles of children and how schools fail in recognizing these learning styles and properly educating by them.Carolyn earned a B.A. in Music History from Whittier College. From 1982-1994, she directed elementary Sunday school music at the Crystal Cathedral. For five of those years, she was also co-director of the elementary Sunday school. She holds a life teaching credential for California and has taught grades K, 1, 2 and 6 in public and private day schools. For 14 years, Carolyn and her husband Martin homeschooled their two daughters, both of whom are college graduates and now married with children. Carolyn is Principal of EIE Academy and she and Martin are owners of Excellence In Education Resource Center in Monrovia, California.Connect with CarolynWebsite: Excellence in Education AcademyWebsite: Excellence in Education Resource CenterFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/ExcellenceInEducationBookstoreContact/email:Listen to Carolyn as she talks about:The cultural attitude towards homeschoolingCause for concern and reason to celebrateHow we must be eternally vigilintThe significant role homeschooling will play  in the protection of our religious freedomsWhy it’s important for homeschoolers to not copy the public school systemHow teaching with games benefit a childHow a child’s different learning styles affect his ability to master subject matterHow public schools put kids in a box and ten slap labels on them.Interview Quote:"The price of liberty is eternal vigilance."Leave your comments and questions below and please share this episode with others. This page may contain affiliate links.
