Episode 187 Being Real with Amber; Author of the Obedient Daughter

The final segment of Being real with of the season is one with everything you could imagine in it. I am joined by Amber Hayes, author of the book “The Obedient Daughter” (releasing September 2024) to share us what it was like to become a new author and share her story. Amber had endured s*xual child abuse from the ages of 5-12 by a very close family member. One that was a favourite in the family. That, fuelled with a mother who had a narcissistic disorder, Amber learned to push it down for decades. Until she was faced with symptoms that were presenting like MS but not testing that way. After having enough of being in a deep depression she reached out to get some flak therapy and she came to find out what was causing all of this. The abuse she suffered could not longer be ignored without doing some serious damage to her life, physically, mentally and spiritually. So she faced it head on. Fast forward to now, she is healing, has made leaps and bounds in releasing guilt and shame and now is on a mission to help others to be inspired to speak up and share their experiences. Not only for their current selves, past selves but for those around us who maybe need that confirmation they deserve better too ♥️ Very powerful episode with an even more powerful woman!
