Episode 205 Being Real about Online Safety

First of all… apologies it’s all been me this month! December is a very tricky month to bring guests on so you are stuck with solo me for a few more but I promise to end season 8 with some guests! Soooo in this episode I thought it would be a great time to bring some conversation in about online safety. Also I am NO expert… these are just from my experiences and what I have read! Some of you may know but beginning of 2024 I had my online identity stolen. It was beyond awful. I can’t even explain how exposing it was. How isolating and lost I felt. I had no where to go, no one who could help. And they just went hard at everything in my life, leaving me without some money, no social identification and a such a huge data and photos loss.& this isn’t even the worst thing online. This Epsiode I also focus on a few stories that parents and kids need to be aware of in the online space. Lawsuits coming out left, right and center to companies like Meta & Character.Ai from extremely concerned parents. Anywhere from sextortion on Instagram to bad, hard drugs on Snapchat to Ai Apps pushing kids to self harm or harm their guardians. These are real life things happening today to our communities and it isn’t being talked enough about.
