Episode 21: A Teacher / Student Chat 36 Years in the Making

from I’m Not Mad, I’m Just Irritated · host Bill Flanigin

Dawn Minke was a student in my ever class...in 1986! As a first-year teacher fresh out of college, I landed a job at Borman Elementary in Denton, Texas teaching 4th grade. It was the wild west of teaching back then. No computers anywhere on campus. No copy machines (we still used dittos). In fact, if I was ever sick, I had to call the principal directly so he could get me a sub.  In this episode, we compare memories from that year, as well as chat about teaching, because guess what?  Dawn is a high school math teacher herself now, going on twenty years.  Our most embarrassing moment as a teacher? The funniest? Most unprofessional?  We have all the answers in this laugh-filled episode. Enjoy!
