Episode 23: Control
from Coffee and Checkboxes · host Richard Spencer
In life our first job is this, to divide and distinguish things into two categories: externals I cannot control, but the choices I make with regard to them I do control. Where will I find good and bad? In me, in my choices. - EPICTETUS God, grant me the serenity, to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. - Reinhold Niebuht There are things we can't control (weather, our parents, economics). And there are things in which we can control (work ethic, creativity, perspective, emotions). It's time for us to learn how to focus on the things we can control, and be at pace at things we can't.
