The differing perspective and the cognitive dissonance of one or both of the parents involved in the conflict creates an arena of conflict because neither one of the parents sees the situation the same. I therefore becomes important to step back and evaluate what is truly important for the child and having as a part of the inquiry the notion that the continuation of the argument has a high impact on the child as well.
