Episode #246: Don’t Be Hard on Yourself

from Tea Time w/Amie & Bev · host Amie Wade

Life is a journey filled with choices, big and small. Some decisions lead to outcomes we celebrate, while others may not turn out as planned. It’s during these moments of disappointment or regret that we often become our harshest critics. But it’s important to remember - you are human, and self-compassion is a vital part of growth.  Being gentle with yourself doesn’t mean avoiding accountability, it means recognizing that making mistakes is a natural part of life. Every decision you make is based on the information and emotions available to you at that moment. Hindsight might reveal a clearer path but dwelling on "what ifs" only fuels unnecessary guilt.  Instead of focusing on what went wrong, ask yourself: what can I learn from this? Mistakes are opportunities to grow, adapt, and understand yourself better. Offer yourself the same kindness you would extend to a dear friend in similar circumstances.  Practice self-compassion by celebrating your courage to make decisions, even when the outcome is uncertain. Trust that your intentions were valid, and remember, you’re doing your best. Life is not about perfection, it’s about progress. When you treat yourself with gentleness, you create space for resilience, confidence, and healing.  May this conversation be beneficial to your life journey.
