Episode 26 - Boomer Series: Lou

from GenX Adulting Podcast · host Brian & Nicole

In this episode we welcome Lou, a boomer, to the studio.  Lou shares about his childhood growing up in Queens, NY, where he spent his summers riding bikes and playing basketball and stickball with his friends.    Lou was a hard worker at an early age and by the time he was 20 he had worked for his father, a bricklayer, on various construction sites, held a job as a movie theater usher, parked cars at an upscale steak house on Long Island, and returned back to construction work.  He even had a side hustle working for ticket scalpers in Manhattan.  After spending much of the 80s working construction, Lou decided to take on a new path as a stockbroker where he found success through the 90s and early 2000’s.  A move down to Florida led him to meeting his current wife, whom he shares two beautiful daughters with that bring him immense pride.  In true Lou style, after moving to Florida he took on a side hustle as a private investigator.  One common theme throughout the episode is Lou’s strong work ethic, which he credits to his father.  Lou has been a successful salesman for the past 10 years where he works with and mentors fellow Millennial and GenZ co-workers.   We cover everything from seeing some of the greatest bands of the 80s live, to experiencing a worry free and safe childhood in the 70s during the blackouts and the Son of Sam years.  Throughout the episode, Lou weaves in hilarious stories of his life that are sure to entertain.  He also shares his perspective on the work ethic of the younger generations in addition to offering some advice.  We touch on the younger generation’s viewpoint of Boomers and contemplate the accuracy of it.  It was wonderful to have Lou as a guest and we truly enjoyed his story and the laughs it brought!Visit Us At:https://linktr.ee/genxadultinghttps://shop.genxadulting.comhttps://www.tiktok.com/@genxadultinghttps://www.instagram.com/genx.adulting/https://www.facebook.com/genxadultinghttps://www.youtube.com/@genxadultinghttps://x.com/genxadultinghttps://www.amazon.com/shop/genxadulting#boomer #work #job #workethic #wallstreet #broker #sales #storytime #music #80s #70s  #newyork #nyc #queens #manhattan #podcast #interview #fyp #foryoupage #stockbroker #interview #italian #construction #hardwork #hustle #studio54Check us out at genxadulting.com#generationx #genx #podcast #marriage #relationship #interview #mom #family
