Episode #261: Kids Are Masters of the Moment

from Tea Time w/Amie & Bev · host Amie Wade

Kids don’t overthink the past or stress about the future, they live fully in the now. Whether they're chasing a soccer ball, drawing a wild picture, or belly-laughing at a silly joke, their focus is total. It’s not because they’re trying to be mindful; it’s just how they’re wired.  This ability to stay present helps kids absorb more from their surroundings. They notice details adults often miss - a bug on the sidewalk, a strange cloud, the exact tone in someone’s voice. Their reactions are immediate and honest. If they’re sad, they cry. If they’re happy, it shows. They don’t fake it.  Of course, part of this comes from having fewer responsibilities. Kids aren’t juggling deadlines or bills. But it’s also a mindset, a natural curiosity and openness that makes the current moment feel like the only one that matters.  Adults chase mindfulness through apps and meditation. Kids just do it. Watching how they move through the world can be a reminder to slow down, pay attention, and appreciate what’s happening right now. The present isn’t just where they live, it’s where their joy comes from.  May this conversation be beneficial to your life journey.
