Episode #262: Light & Dark Exists in Us All

from Tea Time w/Amie & Bev · host Amie Wade

Every one of us carries both light and dark within. Compassion and cruelty. Patience and anger. Hope and despair. These forces don’t define us, they compete for our decisions. We like to think we’re mostly good or mostly bad, but the truth is more complicated. We are both, and we choose which one leads.  Some days, kindness comes easily. Other days, bitterness feels justified. But even in our worst moments, the choice remains. That’s the quiet power we hold: we can stop, assess, and shift. Choosing light isn’t always easy. It can feel weak, slow, or naïve. But it’s never passive. Choosing light, kindness, honesty or restraint takes strength. And doing it consistently builds character.  This doesn’t mean denying the dark. We have to acknowledge it, understand it, and manage it. That’s how we grow. The danger is pretending we don’t have a dark side, or letting it steer without question.   In the end, what defines us isn’t the light or dark inside, it’s what we do with both. Every moment gives us a choice. Every action casts a vote for the person we’re becoming.  May this conversation be beneficial to your life journey.
