A licensed psychotherapist and spiritual coach, she began her Buddhist practice in the Himalayas with Kalu Rinpoche, one of the preeminent Tibetan masters of the twentieth century. He authorized her to become one of the first Western women to teach after she completed a traditional three-year retreat under his guidance. She subsequently founded the Sukhasiddhi Foundation, a Tibetan Buddhist teaching center in Fairfax, California.
